Background
Established in September 2004, the studios are a privately owned recording and post production facility based in the heart of the newly renovated Kings Cross district of London. The studios themselves are located in the basement of an early 19th cent. Georgian end-terraced town house. Built in the 1820’s, it benefits acoustically from the solid construction and building materials used during that era. Configured to the same professional standards of all modern recording studios, Chilli Inc. Studios can offer the demanding artist/producer all of the facilities required to produce that quality piece of work for your music, TV or radio show.
Comfort
Since the studios are located in the basement of a town house, all the creature comforts are available to our clients - kitchen facilities, bathrooms, chill-out rooms, games room, relaxing garden (for smokers); everything to ensure a comfortable relaxing environment.
Services
Recording
The studios aren’t geared up for recording bands like The Polyphonic Spree or Radiohead. Instead, the studio space is more akin to that of a very intimate and personal recording space for personal and private projects. It has been acoustically treated and fine tuned for recording the human voice, acoustic instruments (hand drums, string, wind, brass etc...), electronic keyboards and electric guitars (and basses).
With over 24 channels recording capacity at any one time, there are more than enough tracks to get even the most demanding of clients excited!
The majority of recording is done directly through a Mackie analogue 24 track 8 bus mixing console. We can also accommodate recording direct to hard disc via Digidesign (Pro Tools) hardware. Ease, power and flexibility. Precision up to 96KHz sample rates and 24 bit dynamics gives unprecedented digital audio quality in a project studio of this size.
Mixing
Recording the material is only part of the process. Utilising vintage and contemporary analogue outboard processors and state of the art software processors, we have the ability to turn any recording into a sparkling production. We also have the facilities to mix down to mono, stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound.
Post Production
Attention to detail, hearing is believing, psycho acoustics... these are all important factors when considering what needs to go into the Post Production phase of a project. While we don’t offer any video editing facilities, we do offer the ability to edit audio from any industry standard source and format and can tie this in with video when producing audio post for the project.
Delivery
Whatever the project, focus is on product delivery to budget, timescale and quality. Time is money and nowhere more important is this true than in the professional recording studios.
