The opening of “Solo” at the IKON gallery was a massive success! Andrew Cross and Carl Palmer conducted a one hour talk about the concept of “Solo” and the work involved in getting it into the gallery. Chilli Inc. Studios was privileged to have been involved with this project from the outset and is proud of the results that both Sean Kelsey and Joseph Clancy achieved on both the recording and post production stages of the project.
A DVD and limited edition 12” vinyl LP have been released to celebrate “Solo”. These can be ordered through Andrew Cross and the IKON Gallery.

Chilli Inc Studios release information about new courses that are being planned for the new studios. Our resident engineers and producers have put their heads together to develop a number of education programmes to help new/young musicians understand the recording and production process. Andrew Cross is in discussions with Steve Hackett (Genesis guitarist) to be the next musician to be recruited into the musical art world. A prog-rocker of some distinction, Steve will wow us with his guitar gymnastics and wild electric and acoustic sounds, put to visual art from Andrew. If this is going to be half as good as the Carl Palmer sessions, this will be fantastic! Will keep you posted!

Work begins on the basement! The builders and ground team have moved into the basement and are busy demolishing the basement slab, out door coal vaults, partition walls and stripping out everything. To say that the basement looks like a building site is a gross understatement! Its a 20 week project so we’re not expecting much till mid May. Check out some photos of the renovation of Studio 1 here.

Andrew Cross (photographic artist) kindly asked Chilli Inc. Studios to get involved in a unique project, recording a professional (and very famous) musician in isolation with their instrument. It offered Chilli Inc. a great opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals and produce a piece of art to be exhibited at a number of galleries around the country. Carl Palmer (of Emerson, Lake and Palmer), prolific drummer and prog-rock god, is the first musician to be part of Andrew Cross’s musical vision.
