Multi-track Digital/Analogue Recording
Okay, lets get this straight from the start: the studios aren’t geared up for recording bands like The Polyphonic Spree or Radiohead. Instead, the studio space is more akin to that of a very intimate and personal recording space for personal and private projects. It has been professionally acoustically treated and fine tuned for recording the human voice, acoustic instruments (hand drums, string, wind, brass, guitars etc...), electronic keyboards and acoustic/electric guitars (and basses!!). There is enough space to accommodate a 4 to 5 piece band or string arrangement.
Whether you are a seasoned recording professional or your first time in the studio, we are confident that we will give you a relaxed and enjoyable studio experience. With over 32 channels of recording capacity at any one time, there are more than enough tracks to get the most demanding of clients excited!
The majority of recording is done directly through a Mackie analogue 24 track 8 bus recording/mixing console. We can also accommodate recording direct to hard disc via Digidesign (Pro Tools) hardware or 1/4” 8 track magnetic tape. Ease, power and flexibility. Precision up to 96KHz sample rates and 24 bit dynamics gives unprecedented digital audio quality in a project studio of this size.
Depending on the size of your project, we can discuss rates, terms and conditions to suite your budget. The more time you buy the less you pay, but for a rough estimate, here’s a rough guide:
- Hourly Rate £30/hour (minimum of 4 hours)
- Daily rate of £250/day (10 hour days)
- Weekly Rate £1000/week (5 days @ 10 hours/day)
Block bookings and rates are also available if you have a need to “reserve” a number of days that you can pick off at your leisure.
Multi-track Mixing
Recording the material is only part of the process. Utilising vintage and contemporary analogue outboard processors and state of the art software plug-ins, we have the ability to turn any recording into a sparkling production. With the extensive renovation work just completed, we have transformed a basement bedroom into a full-featured, professional studio with the facility to mix down to a number of different formats including:
- Mono
- Stereo
- Quadrophonic
- 5.1 surround
- 7.1 surround
Depending on the project, we can generate a pricing structure to suite your deliverable. For general music projects (mixed down to Stereo), we would generally charge a standard rate of ~£50 per hour. If you have a number of tracks to mix, we can discuss rates on a per track basis.
For mixing audio to video we would need to discuss what your requirements are so that we can agree the required format and a rate for the job.
Post Production
While we don’t offer any video editing facilities on-site, we do offer the ability to edit audio from any industry standard source and format and can tie this in with video when producing audio post for the project. Working closely with SOHO based video post production facilities, we neatly and seamlessly work together to produce professional broadcast quality products that exceed the clients quality standards.
The complexities of any post production project dictate that we will need to discuss in detail what your requirements are so that we can agree a rate for the project.
Delivery
Whatever the project, focus is on product delivery to budget, timescale and quality. Time is money and nowhere is this more true than in a professional recording studio. Whatever the demands of the client, we can deliver to CD, SACD, DVD-A, DVD-Video, 1/4” magnetic tape (stereo), FTP (for larger projects, we can FTP the project files directly to any other FTP server), WAV, BWAV, MP3, SDII... in fact most (if not all) professional file formats.
